The Ford Rouge Factory Tour Reimagines Visitor Experience with New Ford F-150, 2015 North American Truck of the Year

Dearborn, Mich. (PRWEB) February 10, 2015

The Henry Ford, in its unique partnership with Ford Motor Company, is proud to announce a new experience for visitors at the Ford Rouge Factory Tour. Visitors to the Rouge Complex will get a reimagined view inside the automotive and social innovations taking place at the plant producing Fords all-new aluminum-based F-150, winner of the 2015 North American Truck of the Year at the North American International Auto Show.

The revamped tour not only allows visitors to see the finished process at the plant, but it connects them to the incredible level of research and technology that went into the new design of the innovative aluminum-bodied F-150s, said Patricia Mooradian, president of The Henry Ford. The tour gives our visitors context into the plants historical past so that they too can envision a better future.

Visitors familiar with the Ford Rouge Factory Tour will have a whole new theatrical experience inside Theater 2, now titled Manufacturing Innovation. The reimagined theater, designed by BRC Imagination Arts, immerses visitors into the world of actual production from concept to final testing through state-of-the-art special effects including 3D projection mapping, laser effects and actual moving robots. Inside the Legacy Theater, audiences will get an updated and in-depth look at the Rouge Plants beginnings from being Henry Fords unbridled vision to becoming an unparalleled automotive complex on which the entire process of manufacturing automobiles is achieved.

The factory experience itself has changed with the Rouge plant requiring major updates for aluminum assembly. More than 3,000 construction workers labored just in the plants stamping and body shops to make necessary changes. Along with a look at the final stages of assembly, the Ford Rouge Factory Tour gives visitors a look inside the environmental sustainability of manufacturing with a look at one of the largest living roofs in the world and an Outdoor Living Lab.

Admission is $ 13.50 for adult members and $ 16 for non-members, senior members 62 and up pay $ 12.25 members and $ 14.50 non-members, youth ages 3-12 pay $ 10.25 members and $ 12.00 non-members, children under two are free.
